This post is about speedups but I can’t talk about speedups without talking about events so we will do both. As you know by spending even a little time in the game you earn speedups for doing almost everything in game. Its a good thing to otherwise leveling up would take so much time nobody would finish. You earn speedups for Research, Construction, Troop Training, Gear crafting, healing, and Generic. The way i play and the way i encourage others to play is to save every speedup they get. I know its tempting to use them as soon as you have enough but i suggest keep them and for a very specific reason. For those of you who are new to the game every 2 weeks there is an event called Survival of the Fittest or SOF and then there are other events normally around holidays. In these events there are stages for construction, research, troop training, and gear making as well as hero development. If you save your speedups and do big jumps every two weeks you have a very high likely hood to place highly or even win these events. This is what I mean by having things do double duty. you get your building built and you get points in an event that lets you get extra awards. If your a spender this is also the time to buy packs but not just any packs. Buy the SOF pack or the holiday or special event packs as they give you considerably more speedups then any other packs and they are all generic speedups that can be used for anything. (I will go over spending in more depth in a future post)
The things to save up for these events are: All Speedups, Extra Hero Search (make sure to do your daily ones 6 advanced every day and 1 epic every 2 days), Hero gear parts and designs, Chief gear parts and designs.
With almost everything else spenders have a leg up on this event because they will buy speedups however I have seen non spenders win these events by saving for them diligently one person i knew saved for 6 weeks and won the event yes they sacrificed using those speedups earlier but they got the great benefits and awards from winning SOF that they wouldn’t have gotten without. As with always try and coincide the upgrades your doing with using your rapid development and settlement buffs to maximize your points and your use of the speedups.
Earning speedups: you earn speedups through everything you do basically but there are things you can do that help you to earn more than normal. always make sure to do all your daily intel, maximize your daily rewards every day, participate in every event you physically can, (Alliance throw down is an event that people tend to not particpate in if they are not spenders but you can easily maximize rewards even without spending if you try and the rewards are great.), use the VIP store to buy speedups when they are available (it is a great way of spending caps), use market stall. (I will provide a post soley on market stall and the benefits it gives later)
Special note*** even though i suggest to save every speedup there are exceptions if you need to use some speedups to finish a research or building so that you can use rapid development on both you should do so as the savings in time will outweigh the future possible rewards. Same for troop training if you are going to bed and your troop training has an hour left you should speed to finish then reset new troop training instead of leaving not doing anything for 8-10 hours.
