This is a new event and so I have only what I have learned so far. If i learn more I will add more but this should help anyone wanting to know how it works. during preparation stage alliance members should be registering and getting feedback from the leader or R4s as to what lane to get into. (I will get into lanes and how to load them soon). Preferably the top 45 people in the alliance should be registered no matter what.
The alliance showdown is a weird event there are 5 rounds of fighting against other alliances where you don’t actually get to be involved in the fighting. Its a good event for rewards but not so good for getting people involved. However there are still things at least the leaders and r4s should/need to do to be successful. First lets get into line setup.
There is ample time to register for event and have leaders/R4s go over who is in what line and have people move around if necessary. The goal is to win and to win you only need to win 2 lanes so many people load up 2 lanes with all the heavy hitters and leave one lane weak. This method does work great and as long as you don’t run into an alliance with the exact same idea but slightly stronger players you should win. We try and make the two lanes as strong as possible but equally strong so there is little chance in us losing. the third lane we tend to lose every round. I have seen a number of alliances attempt for all 3 and be successful but in order to do this you need 3 strong players all around the same power to be your anchor (last man) and then a good supporting cast in each lane. It is worthless to load up 2 lanes and have a third weak with only a single strong player you will still lose every time. The best thing to do is look at who is in each lane if you are like us we have way more than 45 register for event but only top 15 in each lane participate. so if there are strong players in your two stacked lanes but not stronger than the top 15 have them move to the third lane and increase your chances. This is not a short process so try and get your players to register early so you can make necessary changes and have people act on those changes since each individual player needs to change lanes themselves. Make sure everyone knows to be in war talents and use buffs if possible to make you stronger before registering.
Next let the fighting begin don’t bother trying to watch you can’t and in reality its just a animated character marching down a lane and swinging a sword. besides you can/ need to watch them all after the fact anyways. After every round my suggestion is to watch how your team performed against the last team (this will help you gauge if your decisions in prep were good or if they need to be modded for next time.). More importantly though watch your next opponents last fight. This will give you information on how strong they are when you see the battle report (compare to yours to see if you have stronger players) this will also let you see where they have those players lined up. The majority of alliances don’t ever touch their lanes after they are set so knowing where they are strong and moving your strong either into their way (if your stronger) or out of their way and put your weak lane in that one give you a tactical advantage. Of course sometimes the other alliances is doing the exact same thing and then its all up in the air. but this should help for the majority you face off against especially smaller alliances.
Only other suggestion for this is once you see what worked / what didn’t work write it down you don’t want to forget.
Added SPECIAL NOTE**** you can join this event with settlement buffs on including march size and it will increase your strength. Also ensure you always are in war buff talents before registering.
Please as always if you have any questions or i didn’t answer something or if i have something wrong let me know.
