Building Breakdown

This one is mainly for newer players who want some information on each building. I know when I started clicking on some of the buildings and reading their descriptions i was totally confused. So lets try and make it simple.

Headquarters: this building decides what level your entire settlement is. The number on this directly correlates to the number on the wilderness screen showing your level. You can’t upgrade any building past the level of your HQ and your HQ is the most expensive building to upgrade. The upside is every time you upgrade your Headquarters your march capacity increases.

Hero Precinct: This is the 2nd most expensive building to upgrade and usually has to be upgraded to the same as your HQ in order to upgrade your HQ again. This building has a number of functions that I will go through. First is the Explorer challenges if you haven’t done these do them. They are a fun change of pace from the normal game, plus they give good rewards for the first time you beat them. Yes after the first 40 or 50 they do get kind of repetitive but the rewards get better and better so stick with it. (no big bonus for completing them all though). Next is the Hero searches depending on your level of Precinct depends on how many daily searches you get a day. (make sure to always use all your daily searches) There is also a button to check on your heroes but not sure why you would use it when its on your main dashboard. The hero precinct also dictates what level of hero’s you can have. In my experience its rare to tray and upgrade a hero past this limit before its available but if your having that issue this is why.

Blast Shelter: This building has only one function it allows you to hide your troops. This should be used a lot when your sleeping in early game as you can hide the majority of your troops if not all and never risk them being killed by someone. You can hide troops for 4 different time periods 15 minutes, 1hr, 4hr, and 8hrs. Use this wisely. (I will add another post on how to avoid losing troops and resources)

Workshop: This building is very important and the items in this will each have their own post. But, for now know that this is where you build medals, Chief gear, and Hero gear. These three things are of utmost important in mid to late game in order to make you as strong as possible. I will get into more detail on them in other posts make sure to read.

Lookout Tower: This building is important to a point. upgrading it lets you see whats in peoples marches including heroes and troop counts. The better the tower is the better you can see and the more likely your marches info is hidden. I say to a point because eventually it all evens out when people get to 30 and then its just a decoration. There are no skills or research so far that give any benefit or buff to this building and nothing penetrates Recon Jammers.

Warehouse: This building is like your Fort Knox for resources. In other words it keeps your resources secure. How many depends on your level of warehouse. there is a breakdown on how much is protected at what level when you click on your warehouse and click info then more details. Though this falls into keeping your stuff safe and the post i will be doing about that, I can tell you in early and mid game the best thing to do is keep your resources below your warehouse limits unless you have to get more for a specific building upgrade. This way your not a target to larger players wanting to steal resources.

Command Station: This building’s sole purpose is to increase your rally size. Rally size is also use to determine amounts of reinforcements in Alliance buildings, bunkers, and capital buildings. Your rally size is actually equal to the rally size in this building plus your march size (which i will go over how to increase).

Trading Post: This building isn’t anything like it seems. I remember starting this game and spending a long time searching for a way to use the trading post to trade resources with my alliance mates until we figured out it wasn’t allowed. really the trading post at this point and time is nothing more than an easy way to get to the Store, VIP Store, and Market stall (all of which will have their own mini post in the future). If you click into the trading post on info it tells you about trading resources as if it can be used for resource trading but developers say that is something coming in the future. (same response for 5 months)

Event Billboard: This building doesn’t require leveling up and is probably one of the most used buildings. This is where you collect daily rewards, See Missions, Research tasks, get rewards from events, and if you bought the daily drops can claim these here.

Enlistment Office: Occasionally when fighting at a bunker or at capital or just against other people. you will lose troops. If your fighting inside a bunker or at the capital all your troop losses are wounded filling your hospital. But because you have limited space in your hospital if you overflow it then you end up losing troops. the majority end up in the enlistment office while a small percentage die outright. It is best to keep a watch on your hospital and know when to pull out of the fight to do some healing (see healing post) to avoid sending people to enlistment. If you do end up with troops in enlistment you accrue duty every minute until you can get them back. Your enlistment office is 4 times the size of your hospital which normally means for most people you will never fill it. Just a heads up if you overflow your enlistment then everything is dead after that.

Intel Post: This provides Final hope messages pretty regularly that provide you with free stuff. Click the envelope any time it comes up. This is also where you check your state Intel for newer states and can get into your radar by clicking Intel on it. State Intel provides you with a status of where your state is towards the statewide Intel goals to open up different parts of the game. The Intel button takes you to the radar that you will level up by doing the missions the higher the level the better the loot.

Assembly Point: The assembly point gets upgraded like any normal building but when you upgrade it you get more timer helps available to you from your alliance along with Timer help duration. when you first start off every help is under 30 seconds off your times by the time you get to HQ 30 its over a minute and a half and even longer with alliance research. The other main thing the Assembly point does is give you room for Reinforcements which you need if you are ever attacked let your alliance members help defend for you by having ample space.

Research Lab: This one is the science building where you perform all your research. This building should be working every minute of every day to help make you stronger. Don’t ever let it sit idle.

Garage: This is where you train your Riders. Always keep this building working it should never be idle. Use it to make the best troops you can or upgrade lower level troops to higher levels. (see post on Troop Training)

Range: This is where you train your Hunters. Always keep this building working it should never be idle. Use it to make the best troops you can or upgrade lower level troops to higher levels. (see post on Troop Training)

Barracks: this is where you train your Infantry. Always keep this building working it should never be idle. Use it to make the best troops you can or upgrade lower level troops to higher levels. (see post on Troop Training)

Resources Buildings Including Gas tank, Lumber Yard, Furnace, and Farm: These are resources buildings that generate small amounts of resources for your settlement. These are the last priority buildings to upgrade only do so when growth missions tell you that you have to or its needed for an upgrade. Plenty of time to work on them after the others are good. You will never generate enough resources using these to achieve anything which is why they are such a low priority.

Training Camp: The training camps are important every upgrade on a training camp and there are 4 of them give you more training capacity for all your troops and decreases the training time as well. Keep these upgraded as troops are very important.

Decorations: Decorate however you see fit. some people like their settlement super organized and pretty some don’t care. Do whats right for you.
